Italy in Group A: It will be rematch against Canada

Canada, Sweden and Chile will be Italy’s opponents in the group stage of the 2023 Davis Cup, scheduled for Sept. 12-17. This is the outcome of the draw that took place Wednesday and placed the Azzurri in Group A, which will have matches scheduled in Bologna.

The challenge against the Canadians will be an opportunity for revenge for the team led by non-playing captain Filippo Volandri, who losing to the North Americans missed out on access to the final of the 2022 edition.

This is the composition of the four rounds:

Group A (Bologna): Italy, Canada, Sweden, Chile;
Group B (Manchester, Great Britain): Australia, Great Britain, France, Switzerland;
Group C (Valencia, Spain): Spain, Serbia, Czech Republic, South Korea;
Group D (venue to be determined in Croatia): Croatia, Netherlands, United States, Finland.
