Chelsea wants to steal Spalletti away from Napoli
Luciano Spalletti could land at Chelsea’s court next season: according to English tabloids, the Napoli coach is reportedly on the shortlist of candidates for the bench of the Blues, who have just exonerated Graham Potter for the team’s disappointing performance in the league.
The 329 million euros invested in the winter soccer market was not enough to lift the fortunes of the Londoners, who instead slipped to 11th position in the Premier League.
Chelsea’s owners want a big name for the bench, and in addition to the Tuscan coach, creator of the super Napoli side that is dominating Serie A, there are Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann, currently without a team, Luis Enrique, looking for a place after his farewell to the Spanish national team, and Oliver Glasner, now at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Spalletti could become the seventh Italian coach in Chelsea’s history, following Vialli, Ranieri, Ancelotti, Di Matteo, Conte and Sarri.
