The words of Davide Cassani

Davide Cassani spoke about Filippo Ganna on Tuttobiciweb. “He finished sixth at Roubaix but his performance deserves a closer look because I really believe he will win this race: he has shown that on the cobblestones he knows how to ride. I know very well that rivaling phenomena of the caliber of Van Aert and Van Der Poel is not easy but Pippo can beat them in the future because he has room for improvement. In this edition he was good but he suffered three factors: turns, changes of pace and the bottom.”

“Let’s not forget where Ganna comes from. He was born a chaser and has become a great time trialist, and for a couple of years he has been training to improve just the bottom, to aim for the big classics. But at Sanremo, a 290-kilometer race, he went strong. How come at Roubaix, which is run over the distance of 250 km, he dropped in the finale? Simple, they are different races.”
