Simone Inzaghi, Marotta peremptory on immediate future
Beppe Marotta tries to sweep away rumors
Beppe Marotta, speaking to ‘Sly Sport’ on the sidelines of the Champions League quarterfinal match between Benfica and Inter Milan, spoke about the Nerazzurri’s recent difficulties with results, taking a moment to defend coach Simone Inzaghi.
“He is not in the dock, he remains without a doubt until the end of the season,” the Nerazzurri executive sentenced. “This season is making us protagonists: maybe not in the league, where we have not been able to keep up with Napoli, but it is not the coach’s fault.
“For a big club it is important to have continuity in all competitions,” Marotta added. “Compared to the last results we have a duty to make up for it: The main goal must be qualification for the next Champions League, but we remain in the running in the Coppa Italia and we are here to play for a possible semifinal.
