Former German tennis player Kiefer splits Jannik Sinner from fellow rising stars Alcaraz and Rune

Nicolas Kiefer in an interview with Tennis.net talked about the three rising stars of world tennis, dwelling especially on Carlos Alcaraz: “Currently I see Carlos Alcaraz as a very complete tennis player. He has no weaknesses, strong both offensively and defensively and has incredibly fast footwork. He is also very good at variations, he is good both volleying and serving.”

The examination then turned to Holger Rune: “He is a tennis player I love, a tennis player who has so many alternatives in the way he plays. In recent years we have only seen strong tennis players from the back court, and these two are bringing something different. Rune is revolutionizing tennis, he is not afraid of anyone, and he impressed me in Paris-Bercy. Tennis players like Alcaraz and Rune I have missed and they will do well.”

Kiefer separated Sinner from the two: “Jannik is different, he exploded later than Alcaraz and Rune but this shows that there are different paths and times to reach the top. He doesn’t just need to play from the back anymore and I’m curious how his clay court season will evolve.”
