Jannik Sinner recites mea culpa for Monte Carlo
The words of Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner spoke after his defeat in the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000. “Even though there was wind, the conditions at the beginning of the match were quite fast. After the rain the court was slower, I couldn’t play the game I wanted to play, even if I pushed the ball it didn’t go as fast as it did before.”
“Every game is different. Every game tells its own story. In one sense there are similar aspects. Even in the third set, I was often on top on my serve, often I was 30-0, then I got a little bit stuck even when I was holding the serve. Even the last game, it turned a little bad, touched a pinch of the line, my tape, that’s how it was today, there’s not much to say.”
“It’s good that I was often in control from the back, I was often making play. I definitely could have done better in the final choices at each point. He served well and I couldn’t respond effectively. Anyway, it’s good that I was always in control, I made mistakes today.”
