Roma-Udinese 3-0

In the Sunday post-match of Serie A’s 30th day, Roma beat Udinese 3-0 thanks to goals from Bove, Pellegrini and Abraham and takes an important step toward the Champions League.

After an initial study phase in which the Giallorossi tried to play the game, the first real chance for the hosts happened on the head of Mancini but Silvestri was ready. A few minutes later the Friulian’s extreme defender is again alert on Wijnaldum’s conclusion. In the 35th minute the Var awarded Roma a penalty for a hand foul by Pereyra: Cristante went to the penalty spot and hit the post but on the rebound Bove was the quickest of all and put it in, signing the 1-0.

In the second half, the Capitolini doubled at the first available opportunity: Belotti set the ball up for Pellegrini who alone in front of Silvestri beat him with a precise touch underneath. In the 69th minute the guests have a chance to get back into the game: Mancini intercepts a shot by Lovric with his arm and the referee awards the penalty to the Bianconeri. From the eleven meters goes Pereyra but Rui Patricio blocks the Argentine’s cross-right. In the final minutes there is room for the Giallorossi’s third: newcomer Abraham turns a beautiful cross from Spinazzola into the seventh.

Roma won 3 crucial points in view of the Champions League and moved up solo to third place at 56, while Udinese remained stuck at 39, in 12th position.
