Inter in the Champions League semifinals, where it will face AC Milan, which advanced to the round against Napoli on Tuesday. The Nerazzurri earned qualification at the San Siro despite a 3-3 draw against Benfica: the important advantage accrued thanks to the 2-0 first leg in Lisbon was decisive.

The Nerazzurri started strongly, creating the first chance after a few minutes on the Lautaro Martinez-Dimarco axis. The second attempt is the good one: it is signed in the 14th minute by Barella, already the author of the first leg lead. The Azzurri midfielder scores with a splendid turnaround conclusion after a drunken dribble over Chiquinho. However, Benfica tried to stay at least in the game and, after Lautaro Martinez’s double was cancelled out, found the first equalizer of the evening: in the 38th minute Aursnes beat Onana with a header.

However, Inter tried to give San Siro the satisfaction of a victory in Milan as well and built a new, double lead. In the 66th minute Lautaro Martinez scored on a tap-in after Mkhitaryan’s initiative on the left flank, while in the 77th minute it was the just-submitted Correa who pierced Benfica’s goal after a personal solo. In the 86th minute, Antonio Silva’s framed shot and Musa’s short-range conclusion in the 94th minute changed the result, but not the outcome of the challenge: the Champions League semifinal will be all Meneghina.
