Juventus: appeal upheld and penalty canceled for chants against Romelu Lukaku
Juventus, appeal upheld, penalty overturned for chants at Lukaku
The Corte Sportiva d’Appello Nazionale – Sezioni Unite, presided over by Carmine Volpe, has upheld the appeal filed by Juventus FC against the sanction of the obligation to play a match with the sector of Juventus Stadium called ‘Tribuna sud primo anello’ devoid of spectators, in relation to the semi-final first leg match of the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa Juventus-Inter, played last April 4.
Reforming the appealed decision, the sanction imposed by the Giudice Sportivo in relation to the “insulting chants and shouts of racial discrimination against the footballer Romelu Lukaku,” was annulled.
Last April 14, the first section of the Court of Sports Appeals had suspended the measure by referring the consideration of Juventus’ complaint to the United Sections.
