During a lengthy interview granted to ‘Il Messaggero’ Kevin Strootman also dwelt on Alberto Gilardino, the coach who after inheriting Genoa from Blessin has led the Ligurian formation to the upper echelons of the Serie B standings, in the middle of the promotion zone: “He is very prepared, he is doing a great job. It’s not for everyone,” assured the Dutch midfielder. Who, banishing superstition, added. “Our goal is Serie A.”
“Last year I tried, even for free, to return to Roma but they did not want me,” added the former Giallorossi man.
