Novak Djokovic tries to explain the resounding knockout

Novak Djokovic makes no dramas after his second resounding defeat in a few days. After the knockout against Lorenzo Musetti in Monte Carlo, the world number one also left the Banja Luka tournament early, bowed out in the quarterfinals by compatriot Lajovic.

“Dusan is a great person, whom I have known for a long time. We have played many times together in Davis Cup and this is a very important victory for him, because the last year was not easy.”

The Serb shrugs off the defeat and thinks about his next goals: “He played very well, I felt slow, weak, out of rhythm. I played well only in some moments, but otherwise very below my level. It is no secret that I am preparing to be at my best in time for Roland Garros. Even last year I started badly on clay, and then things got better. Madrid? We will see, in the next few days we will decide.”
