Salernitana on the shields in the first advance of the 31st day of Serie A: Sousa’s team overwhelmed Sassuolo 3-0 thanks to goals from Pirola, Dia and Coulibaly, climbing to 33 points and moving +7 from the relegation zone with seven days left in the season. Sassuolo remains 10th with 40 points.
The Campani got off to a sprightly start, finding the lead in the 9th minute with Pirola’s framing on Gyomber’s tower, and doubling it in the 20th minute with a right-footed shot from Dia at the end of an action finished by Botheim. Ochoa snuffed out the Emilians’ attempts to regain the lead, and in the second half came Coulibaly’s tic-tac-toe from the edge.
