Valentino Rossi out

Bitter Sunday for Valentino Rossi at the 3 Hours of Monza, the first round of the GT World Challenge Europe championship.

The race was won by BMW with the car driven by Philipp Eng, Nick Yelloly and Marco Wittmann, who also took pole position. Harper, Verhagen and Hesse completed the German one-two.

The spotlight, however, was on the number 46 M4, which was forced to retire by a technical problem in the first few minutes. The race had restarted shortly after a Safety Car entry to clean the track after contact between a Ferrari and a Mercedes.
