It was almost natural for Jannik Sinner to take a break after the overtime he put in between March and April. The South Tyrolean outfielder, who announced a forfeit for the Madrid tournament and will be spring-loaded in Rome for the Internazionali d’Italia, is coming off a real tour de force.
Sinner played seventeen matches in forty days, recording excellent results: victory in Montpellier, final in Rotterdam, semifinal in Indian Wells, final in Miami, and semifinal in Monte Carlo before forfeiting Barcelona, where he had nevertheless landed in the quarterfinals and was to face Lorenzo Musetti, whom Jannik beat a few days before the tournament in the Principality.
