GeVi Napoli, Basketball League grants request and grants advance payment
Naples-Pesaro anticipated
The match of the penultimate day of the basketball Serie A between GeVi Napoli and Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro will not be played on Sunday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m. (like all the other games of the round) but will be brought forward to Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m.
As explained in a note published on Wednesday on Legabasket’s official channels, President Umberto Gandini decided on the advance following a formal request from the Campania club, with the support of the Marche club, noting “the home team’s representation regarding public order profiles due to the possible Scudetto celebrations of the Calcio Napoli team on the same date, which could prevent the influx to the arena of teams, officials and spectators, creating an objective obstacle to the smooth running of the match in question” and “that these profiles, as stated by the company Gevi Napoli Basket, have already been the subject of interlocutions with the Prefecture and the Police Headquarters of Naples, which have shared what the club has highlighted.”
“The anticipation to Saturday, April 29, of the match,” the note further reads, “while derogating from the contemporaneity of the dispute of all the matches of the day, would certainly guarantee the dispute of the same and, with it, the regular conduct of the championship in the necessary framework of public order.
