Bitter Wednesday so far for the Italian women’s team at the Madrid Masters 1000. After Camila Giorgi’s withdrawal due to a knee problem, Jasmine Paolini and Lucia Bronzetti were also eliminated.
The Tuscan tennis player was bowed out by Poland’s Magdalena Frech with the scores of 6-2, 6-3 after an hour and twenty minutes of play. Another misstep for Paolini, currently ranked number 68 in the world.
Nothing to do for Lucia Bronzetti either, defeated decisively in two sets 6-1, 6-3 by Ukrainian Lesja Tsurenko.
