Marc Marquez, concern at Honda: Iker Lecuona is outspoken
Iker Lecuona will replace Marc Marquez in Jerez de La Frontera: for the Spanish rider it is a return to MotoGp after two years. The eight-time world champion’s situation is unclear and worrying at Honda, Lecuona is clear: “I wish Marc good luck with his recovery. He is the reference point in MotoGP and I think the fans miss him a lot, but also the riders.” Marquez will miss his third consecutive GP.
Lecuona hopes to make the most of the opportunity: “For me, of course, it’s an incredible opportunity to come back to MotoGP and race with my dream team. It’s very special to do it in front of the Spanish public. But we have to be realistic, it will be a very difficult and challenging weekend. I spent this year and last year focusing entirely on WorldSBK with Team HRC.”
“Now I have to get used to everything that is different in MotoGP and learn a brand new bike, the Honda RC213V. In any case, I will do my best and see what the result will be.”
