MotoGp, Marc Marquez also skips Jerez
Marc Marquez will not race in Jerez
Marc Marquez will also miss the Spanish Grand Prix. The Spanish centaur, injured after his nasty crash with Oliveira in Portimao, had already given up the following Argentine and American GPs, and now he will not be there in Jerez either, thus aiming to return to the track at Le Mans, scheduled for May 12-14.
This was announced by Honda via an official statement, which read, “On Tuesday, April 25, Marc Marquez underwent a medical checkup at Ruber Internacional Hospital after undergoing successful surgery four weeks ago for an intra-articular fracture of the first metacarpal of his right hand. Clinical and radiological progress was deemed satisfactory, but nevertheless, due to the nature of the fracture and the time elapsed, the medical team led by Dr. Roger de Oña together with Marquez, decided to continue recovery and preparation in the coming weeks and focus his possible return on the French GP, May 12-14. Iker Lecuona of Team HRC in WorldSBK will replace Marc Marquez for the upcoming Spanish Grand Prix.”
