Matteo Berrettini will defend his title in Stuttgart
Matteo Berrettini to start in Stuttgart
Matteo Berrettini is struggling with an abdominal injury that forced him to withdraw from the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 and forfeit the next one in Madrid. While waiting for his return, which fans hope will coincide with his home tournament in Rome, the number three Italian tennis player will defend his title in Stuttgart. In fact, the Roman tennis player is on the entry list of the German tournament, in which he has already triumphed twice: in 2019 in the final against Auger Aliassime and in 2022 in which he overcame Andy Murray.
Alongside Berrettini will be other stars in the first grass tournament of the season: Nick Kyrgios, Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Denis Shapovalov are the tennis players who have been announced as participants in the Stuttgart ATP 250.
