Big disappointment for Lorenzo Musetti in Madrid. On the day of Matteo Arnaldi’s incredible success against Ruud, he flops the most anticipated Italian tennis player in the Masters 1000: the Carrarese player was beaten in two sets by German world number 108 Yannick Hanfmann.
A stinging knockout for the Azzurro, who was coming off a great tournament in Barcelona where he was eliminated struggling in the semifinals against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Hanfmann won in two sets 6-4, 7-6 and will face compatriot Altmaier in the third round.
