Jannik Sinner rare case: “Champion who never made it to Italy”
During the press conference presenting the 80th edition of the Internazionali d’Italia, Italian Tennis and Padel Federation President Angelo Binaghi spoke about Jannik Sinner: “For me he is an extraordinary example, hardly in my life have I met such a determined professional. He puts tennis before anything.”
“I think he is the ideal champion who never came to Italy but used to stop beyond the Alps. He is a great example for everyone. Jannik’s numbers and results we all see, ours he does not see because he is focused on what he has to do but we are preparing the ground for some great feat to be a driving force for the Italian movement,” said President Binaghi.
“The Rome Internationals are the cutting edge of a leading federation, Sinner said we cannot compete with soccer and it is right to never contradict one’s own athlete but we are working hard,” he concluded.
