Mouratoglou brutal on Nadal, Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner: “How would he do it?”

Famed tennis coach Patrik Mouratoglou commented on his social channels on Rafa Nadal’s chances of winning Roland Garros again. The Paris Slam is a tournament that the Manacor-based tennis player has dominated for the past two decades, but according to Mouratoglou in 2023 Rafa has very little chance of making it.

“I honestly believe that there are several very young players who could make a surprise in Paris. This is precisely why I expect a much more exciting Roland Garros than in the past, where we knew in the end that, more or less, Rafa would triumph. Of course I’m not saying he won’t win this year, he can always win but he’s getting older and it’s more and more difficult.”

“In addition, he is still injured. His preparation has not been what everyone and even he expected, last year he won but I think his margin is getting smaller and smaller,” Mouratoglou stressed.

In addition to physical problems, Nadal has to deal with the new generation of tennis players now launched toward big goals: “Imagine Rafa facing Felix Auger Aliassime in an intense match as happened in the past, and then right after that he faces Jannik Sinner and then Carlos Alcaraz. I don’t know how he would react to three such matches in a row. I don’t know how he would get to the finals….”
