Toulouse won the French Cup with a goleada

Toulouse won the French Cup for the first time in its history. The final played at the Stade de France against Nantes had no history: Philippe Montanier’s team won with a peremptory 5-1 victory.

The final lasted only the first half hour, time for Toulouse to score four goals with Costa in the 4′ and 10′ and Dallinga in the 23′ and 31′. In the second half, Toulouse administered the wide lead, Blas finding the flagship goal on a penalty kick in the 75th minute but Aboukhlal’s final 5-1 goal came in the 79th minute.

Toulouse will also play a European competition for the first time in its history: the French Cup gives access to the Europa League.
