Women’s Serie A, Roma’s historic scudetto
Roma women’s soccer team became Italian champions for the first time in its history. Alessandro Spugna’s team arithmetically clinched the title thanks to a 2-1 victory over Fiorentina thanks to goals from Giada Greggi and captain Elisa Bartoli.
Thanks to this success, Roma can no longer be taken back by Juventus, which has to surrender after five consecutive championships. Also celebrating the Capitoline women, who had won the Italian Super Cup in November, was legend Francesco Totti with a message on social media: “By winning the Scudetto with the team of my city and with the colors of my heart, I have realized the dream of a lifetime. Today you have realized it, from today your name will be in the history of this club. Long live Roma as champions of Italy!”
