World champion Alvaro Bautista in an interview with La Vanguardia spoke about Marc Marquez’s difficult moment: “He has the potential to become champion again, but it’s not just the physical factor that matters, more things are at stake. To have lost time without racing, with operations, costs psychologically. And it is more difficult to recover than the physical aspect.”

“He has to get his confidence back, little by little, I would be pleasantly surprised if he won the World Championship this year,” Bautista continued, “but I don’t believe it, but not for him, for the current moment in MotoGp: currently talent matters less than a few years ago.

“Now Marquez cannot show all his talent, he lacks race pace and he needs to psychologically reset. Would I advise him to leave Honda? He has to do only what he thinks is best for him, he has to be selfish and think about himself.”
