Jannik Sinner’s Great Regret
Jannik Sinner gave an interesting interview after winning the Montpellier ATP 250 to ‘Interview” magazine, which published it only in the last few hours.
The South Tyrolean tennis player recounted a major regret of his: “I played against Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray, but I could not challenge Roger Federer. There are many players who decided to retire that I would have liked to face, like Juan Martin del Potro.”
“Challenges with Novak and Rafa? When you face the best you have a lot of pressure, because you have to play your best tennis to try to be at their level,” continued the Italian tennis number one. “It’s a big challenge. But I think I’m ready. You train to play these matches. I have to be patient. Last year I was consistent, now I hope to make a further leap in quality. My natural shot is the backhand, but I don’t think it’s perfect. There are many things to improve.”
“We all saw that the new generation is coming up. Me, Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev. We are young. Everyone has his own personality and plays differently,” Sinner concluded.
