For Juventus and Atalanta victories with a view of Europe, Salernitana-Fiorentina show
Important victories for the Champions League race.
Juventus and Atalanta struggle but win in Wednesday’s Serie A afternoon matches. The bianconeri return to success against Lecce, beaten 2-1 despite second-half apprehensions, 3-2 home by the orobici over Spezia. Between Salernitana and Fiorentina ends 3-3, Sampdoria still defeated at home: after 2-0 with Torino comes also the home crowd’s protest.
The Juventus lead comes in the 15th minute, thanks to a Paredes free kick. In the 26th minute, the Var cancels Miretti’s double for offside, then in the 36th minute Lecce’s equalizer arrives: it is signed by Ceesay, on a penalty awarded for a hand in the box by Danilo. Then in the 41st minute, Vlahovic signed the game-winning goal with a great left-footed shot on an assist from Kostic. In the second half, Juventus hit a post with Danilo, but also risked a further Giallorossi equalizer several times on initiatives by Baschirotto and Ceesay. The score, however, never changed again.
In Bergamo, on the other hand, the match started badly for Atalanta: in the 18th minute Gyasi took advantage of a general sleep of the Orobic defense to put Spezia ahead. The Nerazzurri, however, equalized as early as the 32nd minute thanks to a volley from outside the box found by De Roon, and turned the game around in the second half with Zappacosta, scoring from distance in the 48th minute, and with Muriel, who found the winning right-footed shot under the goal in the 54th minute. Bourabia reopened the match in the 64th minute on Shomurodov’s recovery. Despite the crossbar in the finale by Verde, in any case, comes the victory for La Dea.
Great show at the Arechi, where Dia makes Salernitana dream after Napoli’s equalizing goal. His hat trick, however, is not enough to win against an indomitable Fiorentina. The Senegalese scored in the 10th minute on an assist from Bradaric, repeated in the 59th minute on a Botheim feed and closed the score on a penalty kick in the 80th minute. In between were goals by Nico Gonzalez in the 36th minute, Ikoné in the 71st minute and Biraghi in the 84th minute to set the final 3-3. Finally, at Marassi, Sampdoria lost again: Torino prevailed 2-0, thanks to Buongiorno’s framing in the 31st minute and a counterattack finalized by Pellegri in the 95th minute.
