No final of Sultanlar Ligi, the top Turkish women’s volleyball league, for Paola Egonu.
Her VakifBank Istanbul were in fact eliminated by Fenerbahce Istanbul, which after losing the return match 3-0 (25-23; 25-17; 25-21) won the golden tiebreaker set 15-11.
The national team’s opposite number, freshly called up for the VNL, put down 24 points, which, however, were not enough to prevent their exit.
Paola Egonu’s next and last match in the VakifBank jersey (before transferring to Vero Volley Milano for next season) will be the Champions League final scheduled in Turin on May 20.
