Paolo Bertolucci, interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, gave his opinion on the state of Jannik Sinner’s form, who forfeited for the Madrid tournament: “It would be interesting to check in person the gap that still separates him from the top. I totally agreed with the decision to skip Madrid to take advantage of the right amount of time to do a physical recall ahead of the double Slam test that awaits him.”

“On his return to the court Jannik may experience some hindrance, but I believe that as the matches continue he should regain his polish and fluidity in his movements. The technical progress is continuous, clearly visible and easily predictable, but the road ahead would become smoother if the daily work is accompanied by an important and prestigious success,” added the former racket champion.
