Boris Becker gets out of line on Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
The legendary German champion has clear ideas about the future of tennis
At the Laureus Awards in Paris, former tennis player Boris Becker spoke about Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz and the upcoming start of the Internazionali d’Italia. “I am a big fan of Jannik, he is very talented. I think he is on the same level as Rune and Alcaraz. I think they will be the trio to follow in the near future of the sport. There are many other good players, but Sinner, Holger and Carlos I place them at a higher level because of what they have achieved in such a short time,” said the German as reported by “Il Messagero.”
Next, the former Wimbledon champion wanted to dwell on Rafa Nadal’s complicated moment: “I am sorry that he cannot play in Rome and I don’t know if he will be able to recover for Roland Garros, personally I hope so. I am a fan of his and I would like him to have a chance to defend the title.”
In conclusion, Boris Becker wanted to send a message to Matteo Berrettini, advising him not to force a comeback and to focus fully on regaining his form and rhythm of play.
