Chants against Vlahovic: Atalanta’s corner closed.
Atalanta’s Curva closed for one match: this is the decision of the sports judge after racist chants against Dusan Vlahovic during the match against Juventus.
This is the ruling: “The Sports Judge, considering that, as reported by the report of the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office, the supporters of Soc. Atalanta occupying the sector called “Curva Nord Pisani” raised, at the 46th, 47th, 53rd and 54th of the second half, boorish and insulting chants of racial discrimination against the footballer of Soc. Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic; considering, also, that in the aforementioned report, the collaborators of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office stated that such serious manifestations of racial discrimination, perceived by all four representatives of the Federal Prosecutor’s Office located in the various parts of the stadium, came from up to 80% of the approximately 9,000 occupants of the aforementioned sector (called “Curva Nord Pisani”);”
“Considered that such behavior of the public took note of the match director, who asked to notify the person in charge of public order of the incident for the customary announcements; considered that the albeit meritorious gestural intervention of some players of the home team towards their own fans, and on one occasion the disapproving whistles of part of the remaining public, failed to prevent the recurrence of such deplorable manifestations; held that, by reason of the seriousness, size and actual perception of the phenomenon as well as its repetitiveness, the aforementioned conduct assumes disciplinary significance pursuant to Art. 28, nos. 1 and 4, CGS; resolves to sanction Soc. Atalanta with the obligation to play a match with the sector called “Curva Nord Pisani” devoid of spectators.”
Also ordered a fine of 10,000 euros to Atalanta “for having its supporters, during the course of the match, thrown objects of various kinds, including blunt objects, into the enclosure and onto the field of play, without hitting anyone, and, for having also, at the 21st minute of the second half, intoned an offensive chant against the referee; penalty mitigated under art. 29, paragraph 1 letter b) CGS.”
