WTA 1000 Rome, Martina Trevisan sets her sights on the Foro Italico
Martina Trevisan is set to make her debut on the most important Italian stage for women’s tennis, that of the Foro Italico. Interviewed by Ubaldo Scanagatta, the Italian and world No. 1 and world No. 18 set her goals for the Internazionali d’Italia and endorses the new two-week tournament format.
“Compared to Madrid (where she made it to the round of 16, ed.) the Rome courts are slower. In Madrid the altitude makes you bounce the ball higher and there are more factors to control. I’m here to have fun. I like the new type of tournament. It resembles the Slams, you have a way to settle in and rest between matches.”
