Marquez overtaking Bagnaia: Piedmontese man lashes out at management
Pecco Bagnaia resents management after contact with Marc Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia finished third in the Le Mans Sprint Race. The Piedmontese centaur, however, was the victim of a not very ‘legal’ overtaking by Marc Marquez, which was not sanctioned, unlike what had happened to Pecco himself in Jerez in a very similar dynamic: “I’ll preface by saying that I like it this way, races are like this, overtaking you have to do them also very aggressively when it takes. It makes me angry at the judgment meter, however amen – he thundered at the end of the race – It was a good fight, I enjoyed it. I was hoping to win obviously but the first few laps I struggled and couldn’t keep up with Jorge’s pace.”
“The first two laps I didn’t have any problems, then I struggled a lot as if the temperature of the tire behind had risen a lot. However, after those four laps behind Marquez I picked up the pace, I was even getting back on Binder. Tomorrow we will need a different strategy with the tires,” added Bagnaia.
“Here the tire consumption is not high, we noticed today that the tires in thirteen laps were going well. Jorge was fast, KTM on the other hand used the tire a lot, they are different dynamics. Tomorrow it will be crucial to start more calmly,” the reigning world champion concluded.
