Romelu Lukaku, 30 with praise. Inter beats Sassuolo
Special night for Romelu Lukaku, who celebrates his 30th birthday with a decisive double in Inter’s 4-2 win over Sassuolo that propels the Nerazzurri to leapfrog Lazio and momentarily hook Juventus into second place.
In the first half a goal by Berardi after 11 minutes was disallowed by the Var for offside at the start of the action, then Big Rom in the 41st minute exploded a left-footed shot from outside that left Consigli no chance. In the second half in the 55th minute on Bellanova’s right-footed shot Tressoldi deflects it into his own goal, then in the 58th minute Lautaro brings the score to 3-0.
Dionisi’s Sassuolo, however, redeemed itself and in the 63rd minute it was Matheus Henrique who shortened the distance with a header on Berardi’s cross, then in the 77th minute Frattesi, the best of his team, reopened the game by anticipating Asllani’s header. But in the 89th minute came the 4-2 again thanks to Lukaku who bent Consigli’s hand with a left-footed shot from a deflected position.
