MotoGp, Marc Marquez on the rebound: the words of Puig
Honda team manager: “Marc ran excellently and did everything he could with what he had”
After an extremely negative French GP for Honda, which saw only Takaaki Nakagami cross the finish line in ninth position, team manager Alberto Puig, in an interview with Motorsport spoke about the team’s momentum and the performance of returnee Marc Marquez.
“The work of the last few months is beginning to bear fruit. Of course, there are still several aspects to improve. We have to continue to analyze all the data collected in the first races and continue working to understand what is the best direction to take in order to be competitive in the future. The Le Mans race showed that the championship is still open for us as well. The fact that Marc was so fast and competitive despite the long absence is a very positive factor for the whole team,” said the Honda team manager.
“Marc had a fantastic race. Unfortunately, he was chasing the podium at the end and he knew that Zarco was right behind him and ready to attack him, so he had to keep fighting. The character of a champion is to always try to get the most out of every situation, and that’s exactly what he did. I think he is riding at the level he was before the first injury. He rode excellently and doing what he could with what he had,” added Alberto Puig.
