Jannik Sinner bitter: “I didn’t feel like I wanted to.”
Jannik Sinner does not hide bitterness
After the knockout against Francisco Cerundolo, which ousted him from the Internazionali d’Italia, Jannik Sinner did not hide his bitterness in a press conference.
“I gave everything I had but I didn’t play the way I wanted to, nor did I feel the way I wanted to,” admitted the San Candido native. “That’s how it went, it was a tough day. It’s a shame because I really wanted this tournament so much, I won the first set today but I wasn’t feeling well and he played a very good match.”
“Physically I’m very well trained,” Sinner later clarified, “but there are also days when one doesn’t feel great: today was one of those days. It’s too bad that it happened right in Rome, we’ll try to figure out with the staff what happened. Vagnozzi? He was not well tonight, his absence was felt. These are not things that make you lose or win, but you feel them a little bit.”
