Lots of messages are coming in from the formula 1 world after the cancellation of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which was scheduled for the weekend at the Imola track.

“We are close to the people of Emilia-Romagna and Marche affected by the floods and heavy rains in recent hours,” is the message to the flood victims from Ferrari.

World champion Max Verstappen also expressed his support on social media: “Our thoughts are with all those affected by the heavy rain and flooding in Emilia Romagna. A big wish for strength to safely overcome these moments.”

All the teams have sent messages to the flood victims, with drivers including George Russell’s note: “I’m sorry for the fans that this weekend’s race was cancelled, but the safety of all those affected must always come first. A big wish to all the people in Emilia-Romagna and surrounding areas who have been affected by these floods.”
