MotoGp, Bagnaia-Viñales crash: the version of Gigi Dall’Igna
Gigi Dall’Igna closes the issue
Gigi Dall’Igna, general manager of Ducati Corse, has returned to talk about the incident between Pecco Bagnaia and Maverick Viñales, which forced both the Ducati rider and the Aprilia centaur to withdraw from last Sunday’s French GP.
“It was important to follow up on the great performance in Jerez, unfortunately it didn’t turn out that way, and it’s even more frustrating because there were all the prerequisites to do well,” Dall’Igna said: Pecco had a very good pace, also demonstrated with the pole and the podium in the Sprint Race. He was handling well a tricky start to be able to play it all in the development of the race. It just didn’t take but it’s a race incident and we have to accept it.”
Despite the retirement, Bagnaia still leads the 2023 MotoGp World Championship with 94 points, one more than Marco Bezzecchi (Ducati Mooney VR46 Racing Team).
