Modena Volleyball announces Osmany Juantorena

Osmany Juantorena will return to play in the Italian league: after experiences in China and Turkey, the 1985-class setter will return to Italy, more precisely to Modena, as announced by the Emilian club on Wednesday.

“Osmany Juantorena will be part of Modena Volleyball’s setter department for the 2023/2024 season,” reads the note released by the club. Born in Cuba but naturalized Italian, Juantorena returns to Italy after winning the Turkish Championship as an absolute protagonist two days ago with the Ziraat Bankasi jersey. Juantorena’s incredible palmares include, among other trophies, 6 Italian Championships, 6 Italian Cups, 3 Champions League and 5 World Club Championships Osmany Juantorena has long been captain of the Italian national team, for which he played until the Tokyo Olympics, and with which he won the historic silver medal in Rio 2016.”
