Nick Kyrgios injured foot: misses Roland Garros
Nick Kyrgios will not participate in Roland Garros due to a foot injury sustained earlier this month during a robbery. The news was given by the 28-year-old Aussralian tennis player’s agent Daniel Horsfall: in an interview with the Canberra Times, he wanted to correct the organizers of the Paris tournament who had justified the absence of the number 26 in the Atp rankings by his slow recovery from a knee operation.
According to the agent, Kyrgios instead suffered a cut to his foot during a robbery attempt at his mother’s home in Australia. The robber allegedly stole his car at gunpoint, he explained, pointing out that “the knee surgery went well and his rehabilitation has been great.”
According to local newspaper reconstructions, a man allegedly pointed a gun at Kyrgios’ mother before stealing the car near his Canberra home. Kyrgios reportedly called the police and, using an app on his phone, helped cops track his location. It is unclear, however, how he cut off his foot.
