Women’s Italian Internationals: Iga Swiatek withdraws
The Internazionali d’Italia women’s internationals lose world number 1: Poland’s Iga Swiatek was forced to retire last night at 2-2 in the third set of the quarterfinal against Russian-Kazakh Elena Rybakina.
After winning the first set decisively 6-2 and losing the second on tie-break, Swiatek experienced pain in her right knee and raised the white flag.
