F1, Ferrari: Charles Leclerc sincere on renewal issue
Charles Leclerc dismisses market rumors
On the eve of a weekend as important as his home Grand Prix, at the Monte Carlo circuit, Charles Leclerc spoke to ‘La Gazette de Monaco’ trying, among other things, to extinguish market rumors about him.
“I’m not going to comment on them, but it is true that they are new as far as my career is concerned,” Leclerc admitted. “Until now I was never the subject of rumors, since I’ve been at Ferrari there have never really been any doubts because I have a long contract with the Scuderia, which expires at the end of next year. I love Ferrari, I have always dreamed of driving for this team, I try above all to focus on what there is to do on the track, because we are not yet at the level where we would like to be.”
So there is no timetable for the negotiations related to the renewal: “I have not set myself any deadlines,” confirmed the Monegasque. “We will deal with it when we see fit, I think it’s up to Fred Vasseur to make the first assessments. But there is still a year and a half left on the contract, it is normal that there are no negotiations going on.”
