Filippo Tortu sixth in the 100 in Savona

Wednesday’s was anything but an unforgettable day for Filippo Tortu: the Olympic champion in the 4×100 relay, in fact, did not go beyond sixth place in the final of the meeting on the Ligurian track, with a time of 10.17 that disappointed first and foremost himself.

“It was not a positive day,” Tortu told the microphones of ‘Rai Sport,’ “I felt better in the first meters of the final than in the battery, but on the throw, where I can usually give my best, I could not put in frequency and amplitude. Better the first 50 meters than the second ones.”

“I don’t despair, however, I just have to work and stay calm: I know what I’m worth and I know what I can do, I should not be conditioned in a negative way by results like today’s,” concluded the Brianza-raised sprinter.
