After Napoli, Lazio and Inter Milan also secured qualification for the next Champions League.
In the last match of the 37th day of Serie A, Pioli’s team won 1-0 at home to Juventus, ending the race for the most important cup with one round in advance.
The match at the Allianz Stadium was decided by a great header by Giroud in the 40th minute that left Szczesny with no chance. Juventus did not do much to even the score, and the best chance came in the 92nd minute from Danilo, whose turn from a few steps was blocked by Kalulu’s foot.
Allegri’s team thus remained in seventh place, which would currently be worth the Conference League.
