Valentino Rossi, the backstory of the former Ducati technician
Manuel Cazeaux, Maverick Vinales’ chief technician and former Ducati technician, in an interview with Motosan recalled Valentino Rossi’s difficult two-year stint with the Borgo Panigale fireball: “He is not to blame because he found a bike that was not easy to interpret from one day to the next.”
“When he came to Ducati, the bike had completely changed and usually it doesn’t go well in a short time. I suffered a lot when the results did not come with Valentino, it was a bike he was not comfortable with. What was done wrong was to change everything.”
Stoner’s World Championship: “He was a rider with an impressive sensitivity in finding the limit, braking very late and accelerating very early. He was almost looking for the fall and, the moment he was about to fall, he would give gas and raise the bike again as only a few can do. No one expected that 2007.”
