MotoGp, Alex Marquez explains Mir-Honda crisis

Alex Marquez in an interview with Speedweek said he understands the difficulties Joan Mir is going through in his first season with Honda. The younger of the Marquez brothers spent three nightmarish seasons at the Japanese stable before moving to Ducati: “You never knew what was going to happen when you opened the throttle. And that’s the perfect way to lose confidence,” recalled Alex Marquez.

“I talked to Mir in Austin and that’s what he feels too. With Honda you never know what’s going to happen, he told me, and I totally agree. It’s been three difficult years for me, especially the last two: but I’ve learned a lot and improved as a rider. With the Repsol team I had gotten along very well, but I lacked continuity. Then from 2020 I felt a little forgotten by Honda and started from scratch.”
