Pistoia counts on keeping series with Cantù open
Pistoia, Angella speaks
After losing the first two games in Desio with Cantù, Giorgio Tesi Pistoia is hoping to extend the series with the Brianzoli: game-1 was lost on a nail-biter, game-2 saw the disconcerting post-game epilogue, with the throwing of an object by an inconsiderate and Benetti that could have had far worse consequences and led to two rounds of disqualification at the white-blue’s camp.
“We find a team that has inserted a player like David Logan within an already solid frame, made of experienced players for the category,” said Luca Angella. “In addition, there is the contribution of dynamic longs who can open up the court and have great passer qualities like Da Ros and Baldi Rossi: in short, a complete team and we have already seen it in the first two games. I think their strength is in the long and deep roster where the coach, also an experienced one, can afford to deploy quintets with different weights and characteristics. There are many possible keys to the games in the series: one is to keep their percentages low from outside by having numerous shooters. In general, we will have to limit their full-court offensive potential, so there is to manage our possessions well on offense to prevent them from running. And then to limit the potential of Tuscan outside players such as Bucarelli and Stefanelli, since this is always a special game for them, as well as the physicality of Nikolic and Hunt outside and inside the pitturato.”
