F1, Monza: the euphoria of the Ferrari clan

Here are the statements of Carlos Sainz, Charles Leclerc and Frederic Vasseur at the end of qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix in Monza in which the Spaniard took pole position and the Monegasque the third place.

"I will give it my all to maintain the first position,” Sainz said, “although the goal is still the podium. È it was a very intense qualifying, especially in Q3, on the last lap I knew I had some margin to get the pole, in the end è it went the way I wanted. As soon as I crossed the finish line I had goose bumps, waving to the fans who were really fantastic in giving us their support. The goal è the podium, I will giveò everything to start well and keep the first position, trying to keep Verstappen” away.

"C'è a little bit of disappointment because I felt I could take the pole, but I am still very happy with Sainz’s result,” Leclerc added, “I have great feelings, I am a little bit disappointed that I missed the pole, but to see Sainz in first position still makes me happy. I did good qualifying, although the missed slipstream in Q3 è probably cost me a position. I thank the fans so much, they are really incredible and they will give us a good push to try to get first and second with Sainz. The race? Unfortunately it will beò tough, looking at the data Red Bull still has a big advantage. And forò I don't know, there's something inside that tells me it can be done…".

"This result comes after a positive job in qualifying, we were very competitive unlike Zandvoort – concluded Vasseur – a good qualifying, which came after a good Friday and positive FP3s. Sainz’s pole and Leclerc’s third place are certainly a good milestone, but not a real success that we should try to achieve in the race. The car è been very competitive, with so many differences from Zandvoort where the characteristics of the car could not be enhanced by a very different circuit layout. Obviously we aim to improve and be competitive on every track, regardless of its conformation. The slipstream è was important in qualifying, but not fundamental to the result achieved".
