Matteo Berrettini is coming to terms with yet another injury that forced him to forfeit the Us Open, during his match against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech.

The exact extent of the problem with the ankle on his right foot, which will surely force the Roman tennis player to miss the Davis Cup engagement, is not yet known.

"Definitely not the way I hoped my US Open would end. We are waiting to hear the results of the checks done, having cooperated fully with the medical staff. I thank everyone for the messages, I will provide you with updates" as soon as possible,” Berrettini wrote on his Instagram profile.
