Ferrari knockout: Carlos Sainz explains the secret of rebirth

Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz enjoys his second consecutive pole in Singapore: "As in Monza, I got off to a flying start right from Free Practice 1. I had a lot of confidence throughout the sessions and that brought me in the best possible condition to Q3. I focused on not making a single mistake on the decisive lap: making a clean lap at this track usually pays off. It’ was a bit of a confusing qualifying for everyone, but in the end we managed to put all the pieces in place".

The rebirth of Ferrari had already been glimpsed in Monza: "On some tracks and in some conditions we have a great car especially on the dry lap: this è one of those tracks, with short string points. We know that on the race pace we have our weak point, having said that the team has done a great job to understand the packages in these last weeks and soì it explains the progress".

The Red Bulls are behind, and Sainz is now aiming for victory: "I focus on my race, trying to do my first stint as best I can: the race paceè an’unknown and we will also try to keep an eye on Mercedes" strategy. 

"I think the’goal can be victory: it would be great to dethrone Red Bull. I will giveò everything as in Monza and I hope it will be enough".
